| Central Brazil Mission |
|
The Central Brazil Mission is made up of primarily three ministries:
-
Novo Horizonte Ministry
The "Ministry of the Churches of Christ of Novo Horizonte" is preparing God's
people for ministry. This ministry consists of reaching others for Christ,
making disciples of them and establishing and planting new churches by using
their own trained national leadership. This ministry has grown to over 50
churches and more than 6,000 members. All of the churches have national
Brazilian preachers and leaders. And almost all of them have their own church
building and properties.
-
Project Grow
Project Grow (Cultural Sport's program for Children and Teenagers) was started
because of the social problem among Brazilian children and their moral values.
Now after 10 years there are over 1,000 children involved in the project in
three different locations: Goiás, Rio de Janeiro and Amazonas. The vision is to
use sports as the principle tool to discipline, educate and give real meaning
to the lives of these children. The next big goal is Olympic Village. A 20 acre
piece of land near Goiânia was donated to Project Grow. The village is to have
three soccer fields, a skate track, a gymnasium, a swimming pool, classrooms,
dining room, dressing rooms and a garden planted and cared for by the children.
-
Project Amazonas
A boat was purchased and remodeled and has been used almost monthly for ten day
trips since March, 2000. This Amazon Boat Ministry is reaching and helping
people that live in villages along the many tributaries of the Amazon River.
The boat has both a medical and dental clinic on it and sleeping quarters for
about 20 people. They take a doctor, dentist, nurse, construction crew and an
evangelistic team on almost all trips. They are providing better health and
making possible a better life for these villagers as well as teaching them
about Christ and planting churches.

| Mid-India Christian Mission |
|
The founder of the Mid India Christian Mission, the late Dr. Vijai Lall, had a
vision to teach and train national leadership in the Churches in India. He
encouraged Jay Henry to go to the U.S. and complete theological training at the
Cincinnati Bible Seminary, with the aim to return and start a Bible training
institute. In 1989, the Bethlehem Bible College was started with the aim to
teach the Biblical Truth, to send its preachers to proclaim the Good News and
to enlarge the church of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Over these years, more than
200 young men have graduated from their Bible College and almost 100% are
involved in the Lord's work somewhere in India. The Bible College has started
more than 66 Churches and house Churches in 6 states and in the country of
Nepal.

| Sonlight Ministries, Port-de-Paix, Haiti |
|
Sonlight Ministries in Port-de-Paix consists of a full-size Christian school,
educating more than 300 students in pre-school through 12th grade. All subjects
are taught in English since the native language, Creole, is very limited. Bible
education is a major part of each day's lesson plans.
Roger and Norma Alexander are the founders of Sonlight Ministries. They ended a
successful ministry in Morton's Gap, Kentucky to go to Haiti in 1983. One of
their daughters had gone on a church high school mission trip to Haiti and came
back encouraging her parents to go there. After she finished college she also
joined them. Their original mission was to make strong church leaders, but they
soon realized Voodoo was still the people's main focus.
The Alexanders changed their focus to the children and started a school and
also included a church where students and their families could worship.
Services, which are held in English and Creole, are growing at a very fast
pace, as God's Spirit conquers hearts that were once loyal to Voodoo. Two of
the Alexanders' daughters and their husbands are on the staff.
Sonlight is currently building a multi-purpose building to house the growing
congregation of Sonlight Church. When completed, the building will have a
worship center/gymnasium, offices, and classrooms.
