Jesus promised "living water" to anyone who would put their faith in Him. What He meant was this: our soul is thirsty for something, and only God Himself can quench that thirst.
God's grace is a free gift, but He doesn't force Himself on anyone.
The Bible teaches that a living relationship with Jesus is the sole purpose of our existence.
To begin that relationship, we
1. Admit we have sinned, then commit to leave our past behind us
2. Believe and confess that Jesus is who He claimed to be: the Lord, the Son of God
3. Submit to God in baptism to seal our commitment and receive the Holy Spirit
4. Begin walking with God daily--that's what it means to "live by the Spirit"
