The New Testament begins with four books about the life of Jesus: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. They're traditionally known as the "Gospels," and in them, we find out what Jesus said and did. In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus delivers one of His most famous messages, what is often called the "Sermon on the Mount." In this message, He systematically challenges the basic beliefs of first century Jewish culture, and in the process, He busts a lot of myths that still dog us today.
